Analogue wedding Photographer using 35mm Film
There’s something about film that just hits different. It’s warm, it’s textured, and it’s got that natural glow that makes every image more unique. If you’re looking for something a little more different than cookie-cutter wedding photos, film is where it’s at.
oxfordshire Analogue wedding photographer
Hi, my name is Dale and I have been a professional wedding photographer in and around Oxfordshire for over 10 years. With around 800 weddings captured using digital cameras. However, for many years I have used 35mm; medium and large format analogue cameras for street and portraiture, but then around a year ago I decided to apply my analogue skills to wedding photography to add the unique characteristics - grain structure, colour and dynamic range - that digital cameras can only approximate but never replicate.
My wedding photography style is primarily documentary, often described as candid or natural. I prefer to capture the real, unscripted moments as they unfold, providing an authentic representation of your wedding day.
Located in Oxfordshire I am perfectly situated to cover any Wedding in the South of England. But don’t let the stop you booking me if you are planning a wedding elsewhere. If you think I am the right photographer for your day, I would be more than happy to travel further afield and bed down in a Purple Palace for the night if necessary!
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story photographing your wedding on film can make all the difference.
Authentic Look: Film doesn’t overdo it. Using Ilford/Kentmere and Kodak films the colours are soft, the tones are natural, and every shot feels organic. The contrast and grain structure of the black and white photographs is just magic, which comes from not only the film but the process of development too.
Timeless Appeal: These photos are designed to age beautifully. No over-edited trends here—just clean, classic vibes that’ll still look amazing in 50 years.
Intentionality: With film, every frame counts. That means I’m fully present, looking for the good stuff: the moments you didn’t even realize were happening.
