Polly & Henry | 35mm Film Wedding at The Trout at Tadpole Bridge, Oxfordshire

Polly and Henry’s wedding at The Trout at Tadpole Bridge, Oxfordshire was photographed using traditional 35mm film. I photographed throughout the day using Nikon F3 and Nikon F100 film cameras loaded with Kodak Gold 200 colour film and Kentmere 400 black and white film. The result is a collection of timeless, analogue wedding photographs full of rich colour, beautiful grain and authentic character.

35mm Film Wedding Photography at The Trout at Tadpole Bridge

Nestled on the banks of the River Thames, The Trout at Tadpole Bridge is one of Oxfordshire's most picturesque wedding venues. Surrounded by rolling countryside and riverside views, its relaxed atmosphere and idyllic setting provided the perfect backdrop for Polly and Henry's beautiful summer wedding.

The day began with bridal preparations at The Trout, where Polly spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids. The excitement built throughout the morning as the finishing touches were made before everyone gathered outside for the ceremony.

Polly and Henry exchanged their vows in a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the River Thames. Bathed in warm summer sunshine and surrounded by family and friends, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting to begin married life together. Throughout the ceremony and celebrations, I documented the day using both digital cameras and 35mm film, capturing the atmosphere with a timeless blend of modern and analogue photography.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks in the gardens while I photographed family groups and relaxed candid moments. The riverside location offered endless opportunities for natural wedding photography, while Kodak Gold 200 beautifully captured the warmth of the afternoon light and Kentmere 400 added a classic monochrome feel to quieter moments throughout the day. The celebrations then moved into the beautifully decorated tipi for the wedding breakfast. The rustic setting created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with heartfelt speeches, fantastic food and plenty of laughter shared throughout the afternoon.

As the sun began to set, we wandered down to the banks of the River Thames for a relaxed portrait session. The soft evening light reflecting across the water created the perfect conditions for both digital and 35mm film wedding photography. These portraits became some of my favourite images from the day, combining the timeless look of analogue film with genuine moments between Polly and Henry.

As evening arrived, live music, dancing and a packed dance floor rounded off an unforgettable celebration. Photographing weddings on both digital and 35mm film allows me to preserve every part of the day while creating a gallery that feels both contemporary and timeless. Using Nikon F3 and Nikon F100 cameras with Kodak Gold 200 and Kentmere 400 film stocks brings a unique depth, texture and character that makes every wedding story feel truly one of a kind.
